“The Blas F. Ople Policy Center joins the TUCP and other allied labor groups in mourning the loss of its founder, Atty. Democrito T. Mendoza.
“As one of the pioneers in the trade union movement, Atty. Mendoza blazed a trail in union organizing and tripartite initiatives that would always be remembered. He leaves a giant void in the international and local trade union movements.
“During the days when Ka Blas was labor secretary, one of the first persons he’d consult on labor concerns was Kito Mendoza. Atty. Mendoza dedicated his life to the fight for labor rights and welfare. The nation owes him a debt of gratitude for serving as labor’s voice throughout the years.” (30)
