Protecting Migrant Workers from Exploitation through the Strengthening of Social Structures, the Formation of Alliances and the Application of Ethical Standards and Internet Technology

Background

The project is implemented in partnership with Arbeiter Wohlfahrt International, e.V. (AWO International) Regional Office-Southeast Asia, and was launched on September 1, 2021. It aims to strengthen detection mechanisms to screen overseas Filipino workers, who are leaving through illegal and unsafe situations in various levels by revising protocols for detection, increase access to ethical recruitment channels, establish digital referral windows for trafficking and illegal recruitment cases, enhance legal, reintegration and after-care services for severely exploited migrant workers in politically and economically volatile areas. The Ople Center mobilizes partnerships to build the capacities of public and private stakeholders and sustain innovations in policies and practices that would benefit Filipino migrants and their families.
